At the age of 41 (in the year 1987), I was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Pranayama not only healed the ‘incurable’ diseases but also gave me a new life. In 2007, I quit my professional career to live in Auroville. I discovered the purpose of my life in sharing the techniques that helped me. This was the beginning of my new journey in facilitating workshops.
Prior to joining Auroville, I had a successful career spanning 38 years across Indian Navy, Academia and Indian Private Industry as well as multinationals in top management positions. I received the Visisht Seva Medal from the President of India for distinguished service.

I am currently touring USA and Europe, conducting workshops on Integral Being and also enjoying the scenic beauty, cultures, cuisine and the people of these continents.
We breathe-in and breathe-out about 20,000 times per day. A normal adult uses only 25% of the lung capacity. Pranayama (yogic breathing) expands the lung capacity, helping you to take more life sustaining oxygen with every breath and to expel toxins more efficiently. This reduces the disease-harboring acidity and slows down the respiration rate – thereby helping you to reduce your biological age. Pranayama also works on the ‘chakras’ (the energy centers) to revitalize you and boost your wellbeing. In this workshop, you will be introduced to Pranayama and Deep Relaxation that can be practiced in just 30 minutes time per day. The practice can be easily folded into your life style to enjoy a new level of wellbeing with higher energy levels.
Q: How is it that Pranayama develops mental capacities? What part does it play in bringing about the higher consciousness?
A: Sri Aurobindo
It is the Pranic – vital – currents which sustain mental activity. When these currents are changed by Pranayama, they bring about a change in the brain. The cause of dullness of the brain is some obstruction in it which does not allow the higher thought to be communicated to it. When this obstruction is removed the higher mental being is able to communicate its action easily to the brain. When the higher consciousness is attained the brain does not become dull. My experience is that it becomes illumined.
